Co-founder and CTO
Arjun Murthy
Runs the technology side. Arjun makes AI work reliably once real people depend on it: the data it learns from, how it's tested, and how it's released and watched.
Background
From railway safety software to AI people use every day.
Arjun Murthy is co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of EliteWorks. He leads the AI and Workflow Automation, Robotics and AI Vision, and AI Business Software practices, and signs off the technology side of every project: data, models, testing and release. He has more than 11 years of experience across embedded systems, computer vision, and generative and agentic AI.
He is Head of Software and AI at a defence electro-optics company, where he owns the division's charter, competitive strategy and multi-year roadmap. He is setting up an AS9100-aligned quality management system, controls on how software gets built, continuous integration and delivery, and test automation across several releases running side by side.
From October 2017 to March 2026 he was at a global industrial technology company. From 2020 he was technical leader of its Centre of Excellence, acting as the director's delegate. He owned the roadmap, objectives and key results, programme oversight and Responsible AI readiness, from first version to production. He set release schedules, who decides what, and the monthly and quarterly business reviews across vision, generative AI, cloud, mobile, DevOps and quality assurance. He worked at director level through influence rather than line authority, coordinating cross-functional teams that ranged from three to ten in size, and owned budget planning and the contract for an external team.
There he led on-device vision and AI systems, built by a team spread across India and the United States.
He has taken AI live step by step, from development and testing to a small first release and then full production, with runbooks, monitoring dashboards and lessons from every incident. He has represented engineering in AI risk and Responsible AI reviews covering privacy by design, safety guardrails, audit trails, evaluation benchmarks and launch readiness, and has kept risk registers for privacy, speed, cost and safety.
His earlier career was in safety-critical and regulated engineering: railway signalling software with full requirements traceability at Alstom Transport India, automotive embedded firmware at Denso International India, and a research and development internship in medical imaging informatics at GE Healthcare. He co-authored an international journal paper on optimising picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM), and won a National Best Paper Award in medical imaging informatics.
On robotics projects, Arjun checks whether the investment will pay, sets what the vision system must detect and how it gets tested, and leads the vision and AI software. EliteWorks brings the right mechanical, controls and safety engineering to the robot cell.
Bring Arjun your problem
What to bring to Arjun.
- Good parts rejected, bad parts shipped: will a camera catch the defect you care about, at the defect rate your line really runs?
- Machines that fail without warning: spot trouble early with sensors and small AI models on site
- A robot, vision or automation quote nobody independent has checked
- An AI pilot that impressed everyone and never went live, from document chatbots to teams of AI agents working together
- AI and vision that need to be ready for daily use: testing and checks before release
- Staff pasting company data into free AI tools, and no rules for AI yet
- Per-seat SaaS bills for software that doesn't fit: your own project, operations, HR or knowledge platform with AI inside
- Drawings and customer data that can't leave the building: private AI on your own servers, or a mix of cloud and your own hardware
