A good camera can still reject more good parts than bad ones.

  1. 01 The line

    Take a line making 20,000 parts a day, with 1 per cent defective. The camera catches 95 per cent of real defects and wrongly flags 3 per cent of good parts.

  2. 02 The defects

    200 parts a day are defective. The camera flags 190 of them and misses 10.

  3. 03 The false alarms

    19,800 parts a day are good. The camera flags 594 of them as defective.

  4. 04 The rejects

    784 parts a day get rejected. Only 190 of them, about 24 per cent, are real defects.

    Every one of those figures could sit in an honest quote. The line would still scrap or recheck about three good parts for every real defect it catches.

AI Vision Inspection

The night shift passes what the day shift rejects.

Predictive Maintenance
